After a busy May and June, what with the Leith Festival and a couple of book events, I have only a few tours in July before the August Fringe programme: https://tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on#fq=venue_name%3A%22Custom%20House%22&q=*%3A*

The two June events could hardly be more different. At The National Library it was a formal setting with serried ranks of seating. After Jenni Calder and I both delivered our pieces there were no questions, and it broke up – quite a disappointment for a guy who likes to start a good discussion! But it was good exposure, and I sold a good number of copies. Then at the Netherbow I was one of three authors presenting their work and the whole format was discursive – much more my style. I didn’t sell so many books, but it was more fun!
