Walking around and talking with Tim for this tour is an ABSOLUTE must for trainspotting fans, and Edinburgh visitors alike. Not only does Tim share his insight \'on location\' for various dialogues from both the books and movies, but he also paints a vivid picture of the socio-historical context- an analytical perspective more than 20 years in the making.
We didn\'t read the books before the tour, only saw the films. We will now read the books with a deep appreciation and understanding of the Leith setting, the characters, and heroine addiction. We cannot wait to read Tim\'s book ‘A Trainspotter’s Guide’ as soon as it is published.
We also had a unique, unexpected encounter during our tour with one of Leith\'s most colorful residents- Mary Moriarity, former owner of Port O\'Leith bar, which Irvine Welsh frequented and used in his stories.
Cheers!
