I’m drafting my Trainspotting character studies at the moment. Last Sunday I was interviewed on BBC Radio Scotland and I decided I would say it, loud and clear, to see what it sounds like: ‘Welsh’s characters work far better than the narrative in Trainspotting’. It sounded great, and it still does. I think I’m staying with this idea. Let me know what you think. You can hear the interview in full at http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/player/b01n60cv till 12 October. Skip to around 45 minutes for the discussion on Leith and Trainspotting. And thanks, by the way, to everybody who emails me with comments. Much appreciated.
